Mixed team snowboardcross makes its Olympic debut tonight. In it, one man and one woman will compete relay-style, with the men racing first, then the women beginning as soon as their teammate finishes. The first woman across the finish line wins gold.
Newly crowned Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Jacobellis will team with Nick Baumgartner for the Americans in one quarterfinal and Jake Vedder and Faye Gulini race for Team USA in the other quarterfinal.
In men’s hockey, the North American neighbors meet in the preliminary round. Canada won its first game of the tournament 5-1 over Germany. USA started with an 8-0 win over China. We’ll have live updates from the action here:
