PSG saw their chances of a first-ever Champions League ended in ruthless fashion in the Spanish capital as their holy grail of European glory ended in failure again.
The defeat is likely to have deeper repercussions for the French giants at the end of the campaign with manager Mauricio Pochettino potentially moving on and star man Kylian Mbappe out of contract.
However, despite their frustrations in Europe, Pochettino’s side remain strong favorites to clinch the Ligue 1 title this season with a 12-point lead over second-place Nice.
The visit of rock-bottom Bordeaux should offer PSG a perfect chance to bounce back to form and move a step closer to regaining their league title following Lille’s success in 2021.

52 mins: GOAL! PSG 2 (Neymar 52′) Bordeaux 0 – That’s just too easy for PSG! Hakimi is played in behind, he squares for Neymar and the Brazilian finishes into the net. Boos ring around the Parc des Princes! No emotion on the face of Pochettino!
48 mins: PSG have been the better of the two teams so far, but this has been another passive performance by Pochettino’s team. Can they step it up in the second period? Can they add some gloss to the scoreline?
46 mins: The second half is under way! PSG have a 1-0 lead over Bordeaux thanks to Mbappe’s goal!
45+7 mins: HALF-TIME: PSG 1-0 Bordeaux – Mbappe’s goal is the difference between the two teams, although this first half has been about more than just what has happened on the pitch. The fans are letting their disgruntlement known!
45 mins: There will be TWO minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the first half. Meanwhile, Oudin has been shown a yellow card.
43 mins: The home fans inside the Parc des Princes are now leaving their seats as part of a protest against their own club. They are unhappy with some of the decisions that have been made and their repeated failures in the Champions League.

36 mins: Mbappe takes aim! Neymar fees his teammate on the break, Mbappe cuts inside on to his right foot 20 yards out from goal, but there’s too much power on his curling effort and it flies over the target.
35 mins: Mbappe remains PSG’s most productive player. They really can’t afford to lose him at the end of the season…
6 – Kylian Mbappé is the sixth French player to score at least 15 goals in four consecutive seasons in the Top 5 European in the 21st century, after Thierry Henry, Antoine Griezmann, Alexandre Lacazette, Karim Benzema and Wissam Ben Yedder. Irreproachable. #PSGFCGB pic.twitter.com/3X5Y9StWco

32 mins: This match has followed a familiar theme for PSG this season – very passive, not much energy, but the brilliance of their attacking players is the thing making the difference.
30 mins: Neymar is offside! The PSG forward was played in behind the Bordeaux defence, his lob drifts well wide, but the flag was up anyway.
28 mins: How will the away side respond to falling behind? Bordeaux have played some like football at times, but there is now a sense that they are struggling to get out from the back.
25 mins: That is always the risk for teams like Bordeaux against a front three of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar. There is always a chance that they will string a move together and create an opportunity like the one from which Mbappe scored the opener.
22 mins: GOAL! PSG 1 (Mbappe) Bordeaux 0: The breakthrough is made and Mbappe has the ball in the back of the net. Some nice one-touch play around the box presented the PSG forward with the opportunity and he made no mistake with the finish.
21 mins: Neymar… over! The Brazilian lines up a freekick on the edge of the box, but it was never even close to finding the back of the net. Some more boos and whistles from the home fans!
20 mins: It’s all a bit passive from PSG at the moment. They are seeing plenty of the ball, but the away team are finding it easy enough to sit deep and maintain their shape on the edge of their own box.
15 mins: It’s a strange atmosphere at the Parc des Princes. Groans have already been heard. This home crowd wanted an emphatic response from their after what happened against Real Madrid. They haven’t got that so far!
12 mins: Keeper comes off his line! Messi threads a pass through to Neymar, but Poussin comes off his line to make the slide tackle on the Brazilian outside his box!
10 mins: PSG have had control of the game. They have dominated possession with much of their play coming down the right side, but Bordeaux have retained a threat on the counter!
6 mins: Hwang was in behind! The Bordeaux forward is released into the box and his low shot is saved by Navas, but the flag is eventually raised. He was clearly offside.
4 mins: Messi and Neymar combine down the right side before the Brazilian has a shot rebound away from goal. Then Paredes fires well over the target from the edge of the box!
2 mins: Navas saves! The PSG goalkeeper is forced into early action! The shot came in from distance and Navas palmed away for a corner. Then Onana has a header flash just wide!
1 min: Bordeaux get the match under way! There were some jeers and whistles from the home fans before kick-off! They are showing their frustration at recent results.
7.55am: There are reports in the Spanish media this morning that Mbappe has actually already signed a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid. The French forward’s future remains the subject of much speculation!

7.45am: Not long until kick-off at the Parc des Princes. The omens are good for PSG today. Can they bounce back from their mid-week disappointment to get back on track in the league?
Rebond ? #PSGFCGB pic.twitter.com/fXMuiAPHR6

PSG vs. Bordeaux lineups
Pochettino is without the suspended Marco Verratti and the injured Sergio Ramos (calf) and Ander Herrera (eye). Angel Di Maria picked up a hamstring injury during his appearance in the Real Madrid match. Other changes for squad rotation have been made.
PSG starting lineup (4-3-3): Navas; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes; Gueye, Danilo, Wijnaldum; Messi, Neymar, Mbappe. Subs – Icardi, Dagba, Diallo, Draxler, Kehrer, Gueye, Ebimbe, Simons, Donnarumma.
Bordeaux boss David Guion has six injury absences to contend with: Tom Lacoux (ankle), Ricardo Mangas (muscle tear), Jimmy Briand (calf), goalkeeper Benoit Costil (calf), Amadou Traore (Achilles) and M’Baye Niang (ankle).
