West Ham United’s professional FIFA stars both suffered disappointment in the second solo Global Series Qualifier event on Saturday and Sunday, bowing out in the group stages.
Needing to win six out of eight double-legged group-stage games – as soon as a player reaches three losses, they are eliminated – Alfie ‘AC RedLac’ Calder could twice count himself unlucky on penalty kicks, with ‘Tjardo’ Paliama also defeated early on.
The results mean that neither RedLac nor Tjardo could add to their Global Series points tally, with two Qualifier events remaining this season.
RedLac remains joint-17th in the ‘Europe West’ region with the 75 points he accrued in the first Qualifier, whilst Tjardo is yet to get on the scoreboard this season.
At the end of the season, the top-ranked players in the leaderboard – plus those who perform well in partner leagues including the eChampions League and ePremier League – will go into 128-player FGS Play-Offs, which take place 1-3 July, before the top 32 performers in that competition advance to the FIFAe World Cup.
A summary of both players’ results can be seen below, with RedLac winning on penalties in match three, but losing on spot kicks in matches five and six – including the narrowest of defeats against former world champion ‘Tekkz’.

RedLac and Tjardo will now both turn their attentions to the 2021/22 ePremier League Playoffs, which take place on the evening of Tuesday 15 February.
There, 16 players – eight on PlayStation5 and eight on Xbox One – will go toe-to-toe for the chance to represent West Ham United on domestic football gaming’s grandest of stages: the ePremier League finals.
Tjardo will enter on PS5, with RedLac on Xbox; the latter will then also prepare for the next round of FIFA eClub World Cup qualifiers later this month, having won promotion alongside Joseph ‘RoyalFunkyy’ Crown earlier in the week.
